Objectives

Main objective Students can make kmo vegetable soup.

Other objectives:

  • Students improve their English vocabulary: list of ingredients and typical cooking instructions
  • Students improve their English speaking skills: giving and receiving instructions and presenting our project and the soup.
  • Students improve their social skills. Belgian students from a vocational course give foreign partners instructions.

Working method

Foreign students went to the local market in Veurne to buy all the ingredients for the vegetable soup. big DSC00455

During a two-our cooking workshop Belgian students instruct the foreign students how to make a km0 vegetable soup. They try to make the students familiar with chopping vegetables, baking, steaming, mixing etc.

Once the soup is ready both a foreign and Belgian student go to each class to present the Erasmus+ project 4sUStainable and to let all the other Belgian students and teachers taste the soup.

Recipe for 4

INGREDIENTS PREPARATION
  • 1 onion
  • ΒΌ celery
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 leek
  • 20 g butter or oil
  • 2 cubes of chicken broth
  • 1 laurelleef
  • Pepper and salt
  • 1.5 l water
  • Wash your hands, put on a headcap
  • Clean, rince and chop the vegetables
  • Heat the butter or oil
  • Stew the onion
  • Add the rest of the vegetables
  • Add the water, broth and spices
  • Cook for about 20 minutes
  • Mix the soup
  • Taste and flavour
